The DNR's Scott Johnson tells The Republic that he has heard of a couple reports in recent years of bobcats being hit on Interstate 65 and one on Indiana 46 in Bartholomew County. He says he doesn't know how many bobcats Indiana has. The latest victim was a bobcat struck by a vehicle in Columbus, about 45 miles south of Indianapolis. Columbus police Sgt. Matt Harris says the bobcat weighed nearly 20 pounds and was about 2 years old.

She was an Administrative Assistant at Jay School Corporation in Portland and belonged to the Portland Vocational Womens Club and the Men for Missions in Winchester. Betsy enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching birds and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: a son, Jeffrey Wayne Allen of Winchester; a daughter, Tonya Renee (husband Tom) Roediger of Coldwater, OH; a daughter, Marita Lynn (husband Jeff) Runkle of Saratoga; a daughter, Melinda Sue Hinshaw of Winchester; a daughter, Rebecca Anne Toschlog-Philebaum (husband David) of Portland; a step-daughter, Brenda Sue (husband Don) Staton of Winchester; a step-son, Jeffrey Lee Toschlog of Winchester; a brother, Allen Le-roy Keys of Winchester, a sister, Janet Hyre-Keiber of Ridgeville; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Edward Toschlog; a son, Gregory Lane Allen; a step-son, Bradley Edward Toschlog; a brother, Jimmy Keys; and a step-grandson, Jeffrey Lee Toschlog, II.

(Spit Ball) Johnson, 88 MUNCIE Marion A. "Spit Ball" Johnson, 88, of Muncie, IN passed away at his daugh ter's home in Indianapolis on June 16, 2012. He was born April 29, 1 1924 in York-1 town, IN the VV ft UVll VSl HIV I late, Moses and Sophia (Merkel) Johnson. He was a graduate of the former DeSoto High School. Marion served his country in the U.S.
Marine and upon his discharge in 1946 was a Staff Sgt. For years Marion and his wife, Freda owned and operated Johnson's TV and Appliance. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 33, Marion also was a lifetime member of the Masonic Temple and was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church. He was married in 1947 to Freda Mae (Dowling) Johnson, who preceded him in death in 2009. Marion was also preceded in death by a son, Jerold Johnson, and a brother, Joseph Johnson.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicci Craver; grandchildren, Rachelle Phillips (husband, Mike), Jarod Johnson (wife, Lazette), Courtney Barnilll (husband, Travis); great grandchildren, KaitLyne Phillips, Taylor Phillips, Daelyn Johnson, Brinsley Johnson, Noel Barn-hill, Grant Phillips, Hunter and Austin Barnhill and Adler Johnson; a sister, Erma Weekley; a sister-in-law, An-najene Doherty (husband, Bill). Funeral services will be Wednesday June 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Garden View Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Mrs. Huston was a Registered Nurse at Ball Memorial Hospital and ended her career at Chateau Convalescent Center. She was also a Nurse's Aid instructor and a volunteer with Ball Memorial Hospice. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and several Home-Economics clubs.
She enjoyed her family, reading, being a homemaker, working in the yard, shopping with her daughters, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty-two years, Daniel Robert "Bob" Huston; four children, Jane (Jim) Schowe, Dan (Debbie) Huston, Mary Flannery, and John (Kim) Huston, all of Muncie; her sister, Jane Brown, Delphi; ten grandchildren, Ryan, Nick, Jeff, Paul, Amber, Brandon, Daniel, Michael, Lyn, and Jason; ten great-grandchildren, Caden, Kisen, Callan, Lane, Grace, Luke, Mati, Wilsen, Birdie, and Georgie; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her baby brother, Melvin Lane. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at St.

Ron served in the Army during the Korean War, he attended Wabash College, and was retired as Vice President of the Hammond National Company. In his free time, Ron, enjoyed vacationing with his family and friends to the North woods in Wisconsin where he had vacationed for the past 83 years, he was an avid IU Basketball fan, fisherman, and loved working in his home, and his yard. Ron especially enjoyed making things with stained glass, and hand carving golf club sticks that he shared with many. He was born August 2, 1925, in Muncie, the son of Rich ard C. and Mary (Fox) I Smith. John grad uated from Muncie Central High School in 1943, and received his B.S. and Master's Degree from Ball State University. He met and married his wife Kelsea Phyllis (Peck-inpaugh) Smith.
John served in the Navy during WWII, and continued in the Naval Reserves, retiring as Full Commander. Mr. Smith was a teachercoach for the Muncie Community Schools, serving Roosevelt, McKinley Junior High, and Northside High School, retiring in 1987. John was also a high school wrestling referee for thirty years, and played the bass for several local dance bands. He took up golf at the age of forty, and enjoyed playing into his eighties.
He was a member of Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, Muncie Elks Lodge, the Optimist Club, and American Legion Post 19. John was inducted into the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame. Surviving are his wife of sixty-four years, Kelsea Smith; a son, Charles "Chaz" Smith (wife-Teresa), Muncie; his daughter, Joanne E. Smith, Milwaukee, WI; two grandchildren, Chad Michael Smith (wife-Jamie), Chicago, and Angela Dawn Smith; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, George Burnham Smith; and two sisters, Alice Cecil, and Edna "Kewpie" Alexander.
Private Funeral Services will be held at The Meeks Mortuary Mt. Pleasant Chapel. Private burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery, Yorktown, with Military Rites conducted by Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard.
